Fashion
proper dressing they wore ruffled sleeves and powdered wigs
if you were rich you would have nice clothes
fashion in america was always late
then america got its own fashion
big dresses with bussles that made their butts look big
corsets kept women looking slim
Fashion 1800s
there were no zippers or velcro
they used garters for socks
beards were very popular those days
Fashion 1900 1920
jazz age
thin dresses suits and tuxedos
dancing girls called flappers
if knees were showing you were improper
a guy wrote the great gadspy
levi strauss made blue jeans
modern tie
did not were exposing swim wear
1940 1950
women would wear gloves with clutch purses
since cloth and silk was used for world war 1 women would take eye liner run it up their legs
spats were also popular during this time
bow ties vests sweaters and fedoras were also popular
       
1970 1960
there were men wearing flashy clothing
women wore shorter and shorter skirts
first super models were important
hippies
tastles on vests
FLOWER POWER
miami vice inspired fashion
sportscoat with pastel colered shirts

Fashion 1700s
Men had very proper and ... proper dressing
Wore high heeled shoes. Ruffled wrist. POWDERED WIGS.
if you were rich you wanted the french clothing style. Fashion in america was always late because of the late mail. Until america  got its own fashion.
Huge ornate dresses with bussles  that made their butts bigger. Corsets made women skinnier and made them show a lot.Around the same period of time they wrapped their feet to make them look smaller
Fashion 1800s

Jazz age really cool suits and tuxedos.Dancing girls called flaggers women wore really big hats. Did not wear really short skirts.Some guy wrote great gatsby. LEVI STRAUSS made blue jeans. Modern tie
1940s and 50s
Women went into the office as secretaries. Stockings were popular. Women had clutch purses and hats.Not a huge difference of the clothing for men. Tweed was very popular. SUSPENDERS WERE POPULAR.Vests and over sweaters fedoras and shoes called spats.Humphrey Bogart (Treasure of the High Sierra0
60s and 70s
Bell Bottoms fake eyelashes. Started to wear pants First supermodels models became important. TWIGGY THE first model. Hippie fashion anything goes. Bright colors and flower power vests with tassels
80s
MIAMI VICE. Big hair Back to the future.
90s
boy meets world. WILL SMITH FRESH PRINCE. Nothing really matched.Hip hop Hats to the side baggy clothes. Looney tunes gangsta version.

    • 1600s-(1608) first american colony; europeans
    • 1700s- Revolutionary War
    • 1800s- Civil War, Abraham Lincoln becomes president, War of 1812, And the           Emancipation Proclamation.
    • 1900s- Civil rights act, Great War(World War I),Great Depression, World War II
    • 2000s-9/11, first black president, iphone invented.
    • 2010s- R&B, Hip Hop

    Why do we hear more about different types of music than one music?
    • 1900s… Thomas Edison created the first wax cylinder( wax record) where people could record their voices and sell them to people.
    • 1900s… The radio was invented. Music can be played nationally. Nicola Testa made that possible


    • 17th century(1600s)- Baroque… club music in this time. Build a building that had a echo sound because there weren't any speakers.
    • 18th century(1700s)- Fiddling
    • 19th century(1800s)- Folk Music.Most of this music had a story.” Oh Susana”. There song in the song was Dixie.
    • 1890s- Cowboys, Oregon Trail.
    • Earlier 1900s- Scout Joplin made rag time and it was strictly american made. They say that black people were responsible for American Music for the last 100yrs.
    • In the 1920s the blues came out with Robert Johnson and Money Waters.
    • Pop was popular in the 1940s-1950s...Jackie Wilson. A lot of soulful moves.
    • 1960s-1970s- Rock’n Roll was popular in this time… The Beatles(influenced by Money Waters)
    • 1980s- Pop Rock… A lot of synthetic and electronic music… Girls just wanna have fun by Sydney Lockper
    • I wanna dance with somebody by Whitney Houston…leather jackets were popular back then.
    • R&B… New Edition(1980s)ft. Bobby Brown
    • Late 80s-Rick Astley
    • 1990s-Grunge Rock- Washington, Oregon… Nirvana ”smells like teen Spirit”
    • late 1990s- Hip Hop… Lauryn Hill “Everything was Everything”
    • 2000s(Hip Hop)- Respiration… Black Star
    • 2010s- We can’t Stop, wrecking ball by Miley Cyrus.
